Sir Ian and the Menezes Killing

In light of recent revelations regarding the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes, questions about Sir Ian Blair, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, are getting louder.

Not only did Sir Ian spread false information regarding the dress and behavior of Mr. Menezes, but it also seems he tried to intervene in the inquiry of the shooting.

Scotland Yard said Sir Ian wrote to the Home Office permanent secretary, John Gieve, to ensure the terrorist investigation took precedence over any Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation.

I think he's going to have to go. THis whole business smells very bad. His public trust has gone, with first the "coverup", and now the news that he *personally* tried to prevent an inquiry.
