FBI Blocks Story, Reporter Fired
Flo Jonic was a general assignment reporter for WBZ-AM in Boston. She had been working on a story regarding potential security issues at the FBI's One Center Plaza offices. The FBI complained about the story, saying it would be reckless and might put lives in danger. WBZ management apparently agreed and canned the story. Ms. Jonic wasn't pleased and sent out an email to the Program Director and Assistant News Director, along with copies to the rest of the office. In her email she said they had caved to pressure from the FBI and had lost respect in the newsroom. Today she was fired.
