Steven Vincent Killed
American journalist Steven Vincent, who had reportedly been gathering material for a book on Basra, has been shot dead in Iraq. He and his translator, Noor al-Khal, were kidnapped by masked gunman in a pick-up truck, which may have had markings of a Police vehicle. His body was found the next morning. Ms. al-Khal was shot in the chest and is reportedly being treated in a hospital.
