Katherine Harris: A Colorized Clown?

Katherine Harris, Secretary of State in Florida during the 2000 election fiasco is now saying her ugly makeup is really a result of how "newspapers colorized my photograph". Now a candidate for the U.S. Senate, Harris told Sean Hannity the images were "personally painful", something to which I can personally attest.

When asked by real journalists to point out an altered photograph, Harris and her staff could not. When asked, her spokesperson, Adam Goodman, seemed to indicate that Ms. Harris may have been speaking metaphorically. "I think what she's saying is the number of photographs that were run that were unflattering was large, and that was unfair because the only reason this was made a caricature built around cosmetics was because she was a woman." he said.

Perhaps, but that's a long way from the claim that "newspapers colorized my photograph", a charge the AP says is false. David Ake, AP national deputy photography director is quoted as saying "We're pretty adamant about that. We have terminated people for it."
