Teachers Stage Gun Attack on Students

Teachers at Scales Elementary School in Tennessee staged a fake gun attack on students during the final night of a week long field trip. Parents were not informed in advance and the 69 sixth graders were told it was not a drill. Students hid under tables while a teacher dressed in a hooded sweatshirt pulled on their locked door. The school's principal said it "involved poor judgment", but did not say if any disciplinary action would be taken against the teachers. Parents are reportedly outraged over the incident.
"The children were in that room in the dark, begging for their lives, because they thought there was someone with a gun after them," said Brandy Cole, whose son went on the trip.

I didn't hear about this but am stupefied to think that anyone thought this was a good idea.

Yea, I know. The school later issued a press release saying it was all just a big joke and people are overreacting. They claim the kids thought it was good fun and "High fives were exchanged" before the kids were sent off to clean their rooms.

As one person said, telling ghost stories is one thing, but this is entirely different. I agree.
