"The Sock Obama" is Back

David and Elizabeth Lawson, the creators of "The Sock Obama", a puppet of a monkey dressed in a suit, have announced they will go ahead with plans to manufacture the item. This after the contracted manufacturer, Binkley Toys Inc., had issued an apology and said it would not be manufactured. The Lawsons say it's a matter of fairness.

"It's OK for there to be hundreds of thousands of Google sites containing references to our current president's resemblance to a chimpanzee," the Lawsons' statement said. "However, it's not OK to make that same association regarding our possible next president."
