Palfrey Dead, Vitter Cleared

One week after the apparent suicide of Deborah Jeane Palfrey, her client David Vitter has been cleared by the Senate Ethics Committee. Even though soliciting prostitution is (obviously) a crime, the committee dismissed the complaint (brought by CREW) because Mr. Vitter's activity occurred before he ran for the Senate, and "did not involve use of public office or status for improper purposes." The committee also noted that, even though Palfrey was found guilty, Mr. Vitter was never charged with a crime.

Move along, there's nothing to see here.
