Did Bush Consider Bombing Al Jazeera?
The White House is refusing to comment on a story published by the Daily Mirror which says a secret memo from Prime Minister Blair's office indicates the U.S. President had to be talked out of bombing the Al Jazeera news headquarters during April of 2004."We are not going to dignify something so outlandish with a response," a White House official told CNN. A Pentagon official called the Daily Mirror report "absolutely absurd."The memo is the subject of a lawsuit and the paper's editors are being threatened with prosecution under the U.K. Official Secrets Act.
