No Home Cooking for Homeless
Fairfax County in Virginia has a new policy which prohibits home and church cooked meals from being served
to homeless folk unless the kitchen is approved by the county.
"We're dealing with a medically fragile population . . . so they're more susceptible to food-borne illnesses than the general population," said Tom Crow, the county Health Department's director of environmental health. "We're trying to protect those people."via Obscure Store

It seems the Comedy Central Blog was the first to break the news
of Donald Rumsfeld's resignation this morning at 12:15am.
The buzz I'm hearing from a friend, and a totally unconfirmed White House source (remember Comedy Central doesn't have journalistic standards), is that Rumsfeld will be out of the administration tomorrow.via BoingBoing
Science Censorship Investigated
The AP is reporting Senator Frank Lautenberg has been told the inspectors general for the Commerce Department and NASA are investigating whether the Bush administration has been suppressing and censoring the results of federal research
into global warming.
He said the investigations "will uncover internal documents and agency correspondence that may expose widespread misconduct." He added, "Taxpayers do not fund scientific research so the Bush White House can alter it."via HuffPo
